What are eyelash extensions?

Eyelash extensions are individual synthetic lashes that are applied directly to the natural lash, close to the lash line with a semi-permanent bonding adhesive.  A single extension is applied to a single lash, leaving the eyelashes and eyelids to move freely and feel natural.  One of the many benefits of eyelash extensions is that they are waterproof!

How long do eyelash extensions last?

Eyelash extensions can last up to 6 weeks.  As your natural lashes grow and shed, the extensions will grow and shed with them.  We generally lose between 3-5 natural lashes a day, though we do not notice them -- However, when you are wearing eyelash extensions, you will become more aware when they shed.  Don't worry - it's all part of the natural process!

Why do I need fills if they last up to 6 weeks?

The eyelash extensions shed with your natural lash cycle, very gradually - just a few here and there as new baby lashed come through.  After 2 or 3 weeks you will start seeing little spaces where the old lashes have shed, and new ones are coming through - now is a good time to get a fill to keep your lashes full!

Do eyelash extensions damage my natural lashes?

No -- Eyelash extensions are applied taking special care to ensure that they are all applied individually and correctly to maintain your eyelash health.  Additionally, following the take-home instructions will help ensure the ongoing health of your lashes.

Is the process of having eyelash extensions applied painful?

Not at all!  The eyelash extensions are applied directly to the eyelash, there is no contact with the skin.  It may feel a little unusual the first time, but once you get used to it, it should be so comfortable that you may drift off to sleep.  People with extremely sensitive eyes may get some watering and slight stinging at the end, but this subsides within seconds.

Can I wear makeup with eyelash extensions?

Absolutely!  Just be gentle when applying eyeliner and eyeshadow.  We do not recommend that you apply mascara to your eyelash extensions, as some mascaras may contain oils that weaken the adhesive bond on your eyelash extensions.  You must only use OIL FREE makeup remover.
